Only long-term or chronic insomniacs need intervention. I was not sleeping for nights on end. I was waking up at 4:00 in the afternoon and I could not go back to sleep. I was irritable, anxious, depressed, and actually fatigued. I was making errors at work that were going to catch up with me. I spoke with the doctor and he told myself and others to try some over the counter sleep time aids. I told the doctor that I tried genuinely everything that the store had. I was telling the truth, too. I actually did try everything in the store from patches to creams and pills and drinks. The doctor sent myself and others to a special medical marijuana clinic. The clinic was for people that suffered from sleeping disorders. The doctor inside of the clinic had the ability to present myself and others with a medical marijuana card if he felt that marijuana might be able to help with the insomnia concerns. The doctor genuinely felt that my insomnia could be helped with marijuana and prescribed the medication to myself and others without any hesitation. I still use medical cannabis every night before bed for a full 8 minutes of rest.
