The packaging warehouse had a ton of issues last night
I work in a warehouse five nights every week.
My shift starts at 3:00 in the afternoon and I don’t get home until after midnight.
I get two 15 minute breaks throughout the evening and an hour for lunch which is paid. That means every week I get 5 hours of overtime. I use my 5 hours of overtime as a savings account. I make $117 for those 5 hours of overtime and every two weeks I put that into my savings account for christmas. Last night was a very busy night because there were a ton of issues in the packaging warehouse. We were packaging grams of cannabis concentrate. The cannabis concentrate comes in a large vat. Each one of the small glass containers are filled with a gram or half gram of cannabis concentrate. Another machine adds a plastic lid to the top of the glass. There is also an insert between the lid and the glass so the package is completely sealed from the factory. The machine that places the piece of plastic between the glass and the lid was not working last night and we had to stop production a bunch of times to reset the machine. By 5 in the afternoon, I had already reset the machines three times. I told the maintenance staff that they were going to have to fix the problem when we took our lunch break, because the cannabis concentrate packaging problem was slowing down production a lot. We took lunch an hour early and hoped that the machine would be fixed when we came back.
