No one at the golf course will admit to smoking cannabis, but almost everyone does it.
Not the Old Timers, of course, those guys stick exclusively to liquor and rarely smoke any grass.
In this venue I am considered one of the younger people, even though I am in my mid 40s. I guess that in the world of golf that is pretty young! I will have a drink or two in the middle of a game sometimes, but in general I don’t like to get drunk when I golf. Booze makes me dull-witted, and I don’t strike the ball as cleanly. On the other hand, cannabis helps to steady my nerves and clear my mind, so that I can play the best golf I am capable of. Because there are so many stodgy Old Timers on the golf course, I cannot openly smoke cannabis there. I bring a joint with me to smoke in the car, but usually stick to cannabis oil in my vape rig during match play. Personally I don’t think that vaping cannabis oil hits as hard as smoking buds, but it’s a lot easier to get away with. Vaping cannabis does not have the distinct odor, which is a dead giveaway to anyone on the course. I also don’t get the same red-rimmed eyes I get when smoking proper cannabis. One day I will be considered to be one of the Old Timers, and by then I believe cannabis will be completely accepted at the golf course. Until then I will just keep using my vape rig.
