The river was getting higher by the minute
I’ve never been boating on a river that is controlled by separate dams. During the morning the river is at a low level and during the afternoon, the river is flooded by the dams to allow more water into the valley. I recently moved to this area and I have been learning a lot about the way that the dams work together. I love to go fishing and I have a boat. I’ve been fishing from the docks and the side of the river and I’ve had some pretty good luck. I’ve managed to pull in a couple of bass, trout, and perch. I got a striped bass that was almost 8 lb. It was easily one of the biggest fish that I have ever pulled in with the small pole that I was using. Some new friends suggested we go to the river on Saturday to hang out and fish. I mentioned the fact that I have a boat and they wanted me to bring the boat so we could navigate the river. I told my friends that I didn’t know much about navigating the river with the dams and they said everything would be just fine. One of the guys brought recreational marijuana. We smoked recreational marijuana the whole time we were on the river and I am not used to the way that it makes me feel. I was higher than I should have been to operate the boat. The effects from the recreational marijuana took me by surprise and so did the river. I was very nervous when the river was getting higher and higher by the minute.
