Let’s make it a typical task
I was not allowed to do those things as a child, but my parents never once demonized alcohol or cannabis
Before they had me, my parents used to be ultra hippies… or something close to that. They traveled the country in a van, which they also apparently lived in at the time. They might have kept on like that, except for they had a kid and suddenly decided to settle down like correct folks. The point of this is that I grew up in a nice little household that was legitimately liberal when it came to most things, including plenty of drinking and drugs. I was not allowed to do those things as a child, but my parents never once demonized alcohol or cannabis. Instead they explained that cannabis and alcohol were both chemicals that were normal for adults to use. The point of this story is that because they intensely normalized cannabis and alcohol, I never had an issue with them, then some kids go completely wild as soon as they get their first occasion and start using marijuana and harder drugs, because they are so curious about the “forbidden fruit.” Imagine saying to other people “cannabis will alter your perceptions and send you to a whole new realm of mental consciousness, so you should never do it!” Of course these kids will use cannabis right away to see what all the hype is about. Since my parents raised myself and others to see this substance of cannabis as being normal, I was never tempted to try it until I was much older, as a real adult I use cannabis often, and I appreciate it, however I am so cheerful that my dear old parents never made it assume weird, then more parents should raise their kids this way, to see cannabis as something that is normal.
