Everyone knows my name at the cannabis lounge
Remember that outdated cable sitcom called Cheers? The theme song was about going to a locale where “everyone knows your name.” The idea of a friendly city bar where everyone knew one another was fun but antiquated.
I have never been anywhere like the bar in Cheers, until recently, however but it’s not a bar, it’s a cannabis dispensary.
Last year the locale added a current feature – the back patio was converted into a smokers lounge, where the customers could just hang out, however slowly this locale became a common hang-out spot for the cannabis customers, as well as now it’s a locale where “everyone knows my name.” One of the smartest things they did was to build a small stage in the back corner of the cannabis smokers lounge. It’s not big enough for a band, but a single person can sit there as well as perform, either by playing music or telling jokes. Hosting an Open Mic Night at the cannabis lounge was a great way to encourage current people to come in as well as see what the shop had to offer. Some afternoons it was so popular the cannabis lounge overflowed out into the parking lot! I have made a lot of great friends at the cannabis lounge, as well as although my associate and I don’t hang out at home my associate and I see each other more than 2 times a week at the dispensary. As much as I prefer hanging out at the cannabis lounge, I have never signed up for Open Mic Night. I can’t sing as well as I’m not funny, I just like smoking marijuana with all of my current friends.
